Media Center Circulation

What's in the library media center?

North Park's media center houses many types of materials to assist students in their educational needs. Included are books, kits (audiotape with book), videotapes, and magazines. It is a privilege for students to check out materials from the library media center and it is the responsibility of the student to follow the rules regarding the use of the library's materials.

How many materials can I check out?

Kindergarten students may have two books total checked out at a time.

First and second grade students may have two items checked out at a time. One item must be a book.

Third grade students may check out three items at a time. One item must be a book at their reading level.

Fourth and fifth grade students may check out two items at a time. One must be a book at their reading level. If they need resources for research, they may have a total of four items checked out.

How long can I keep the materials I check out from the library?

Materials are automatically checked out for two weeks; however, students are highly encouraged to return materials as soon as they are finished using them. Reference materials can only be checked out overnight and must be returned the next school day.
Students may renew checked out materials one time and get an extended 2 week, or one day, period.
