Volunteer Program

Volunteer for the children. Volunteer for the future.

Do you enjoy working with children or in a school setting? If so, Columbus Public Schools provide many opportunities to become involved.

We can give you the chance to work in one of our six elementary schools with students in grades K-5, in our middle school with students in grades 6-8 or in our high school with students in grades 9-12. By helping a child succeed in school, you will make a big difference in his or her life.

If working with students seems too intimidating, perhaps you would prefer to do something more behind the scenes such as assisting in the office or shelving books in the library. With school buildings located throughout town, one will surely be close to your home.

The elementary school hours are 8 a.m.-3:05 p.m., middle school 8:09 a.m.-3:20 p.m. and high school 8:10 a.m.-3:20 p.m. If you work during the school day, don't worry, there are also many evening activities where you can be of assistance.

To find out more information, contact Michelle Cruise at 563-7000 or by e-mail at michelle.cruise@cps-ne.org. Both the application and release of information form must be submitted before a person can volunteer.
